OUR ROOTS
One Step Ahead
The Little Red Wagon has been a dedicated childcare center in Mount Pleasant for over three years, but our story began more than 15 years ago. What started as a small, six-child in-home daycare in a quaint home on the west side of Mount Pleasant soon grew into a licensed group home, caring for 12 children in a larger house just outside of town with a dedicated space for families. As the demand for quality childcare in our community continued to grow, we felt called to expand—leading to our biggest leap yet into a commercial center in the heart of Mount Pleasant, where we now serve 58 children across our infant, toddler, tykes, and preschool rooms.
Now, we are excited to announce yet another expansion! We are opening a second location in Remus, inside St. Michael’s School, furthering our mission to provide high-quality early childhood education and care to even more families.

The Little Red Wagon believes that parent communication is of key importance. That is why we take many intentional steps from staff scheduling and room placement to utilizing a parent communication tool called, DailyConnect. DailyConnect is an app that allows parents to see in real-time when their child has had a diaper change, napped, eaten, or engaged in an activity. Parents can also directly message their child's teacher through the app!
